The Stone Age Didn't End Because We Ran Out Of Stones

I'll vote for Brian and I think he's make a great Congress person, but I will be speaking to him about dissing the stone age!

By "Controlling the Message" I mean setting the agenda, usually by putting something out there that causes other people to shift their own message to be more like yours. I can think of a few spectacular yet small scale examples that are safe to talk about. I'll give you one, although if certain…
I support and endorse Sharon Sund for US Congress. Sharon will represent the Third District in Minnesota. For years, the Third District, in which I live, was represented by a moderate Republican, Jim Ramstad. Though I never voted for him, it was not all that annoying that he was in Congress…
I am represented in the US House of Representatives by Erik Paulsen. I've not heard much from Erik since his election two years ago because he doesn't tell us much. But I don't need to hear from him, really, because he is, for all intents and purposes, a clone of Michele Bachmann, the nutbag who…
This week's edition of the Replace Michele Bachmann Web Carnival is the fourth in the series, and is named the "We Told You So" edition. This is because there are several of us living here in Minnesota who have been blogging about Michele Bachmann for some time. There is the Dump Bachmann web…

Does anyone even know why the stone age ended? Who knows, maybe a local shortage of good flint for tools was the driving force behind experiments to use metal instead?

Thomas, there are flints everywhere, people for fun make stone age tools today. We didn't switch to steam ships because we ran out of wind.

The reason the stone age ended was because people started experimenting with making ceramics and in the process of firing clay discovered how to smelt ores. They found that bronze made better tools than flint.Visit The Stone Age Tools website to learn more.

I suspect that the end of the stone age was tied to the beginning of agriculture. When people were still nomadic hunter-gatherers, there wasn't much chance to learn how to work metal, since you can't exactly carry a forge & furnace around with you. Once people settled in a village to farm the area, they started working native copper and went from there.

I believe the stone age end because there was a change or evolution of technology. This is the time where there are new inventions coming out that slowly change the stone age into a new era.
