Scientific Life was nominated for several "Bloggie" Award categories, but it is not a finalist for any of them. In fact, none of the blogs listed as finalists have primarily scientific content, unfortunately! But nonetheless, there are some excellent examples of weblogs represented there, including several blogs that I regularly read and nominated. The best thing about all the weblog awards is they provide a one-stop opportunity for you, the public, to access blogs that are widely perceived as being high quality without you having to spend months or even years poking around the web searching for them. (Scroll down on that link for all the finalists and their categories).

I am pleased to see some people visiting this site because Scientific Life was listed as a finalist in the Koufax Awards' "Most Deserving of Wider Recognition" category. Even though I put a notification on my original site regarding my relocation, it is gratifying to see that a few of you are…
It seems that Mixing Memory is a finalist for best science blog in the 2006 Weblog Awards. I'm not sure how they decide on finalists (whoever gets nominated, I guess), but it's cool anyway. Several other ScienceBlogs were nominated as well, including Pharyngula (i.e., the winner), Deltoid, and Good…
Yes, Weblog Awards are up again. Not everyone's favourite (as opposed to the Koufaxes), as they are easily freeped and one can find candidates who should not be there, i.e., blogs that have not written anything factual in years, e.g., right-wingers in political categories, pseudoscientists in…
Hey, Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy is in the Best Topical Blog category - the only science blog there.
ah, thanks for reminding me .. how did i forget that?
And Ben Cruachan was nominated under the Australian category. It's not really a science blog, but at least it's a bird blog.
