Koufax Awards: Most Deserving of Wider Recognition

I am pleased to see some people visiting this site because Scientific Life was listed as a finalist in the Koufax Awards' "Most Deserving of Wider Recognition" category. Even though I put a notification on my original site regarding my relocation, it is gratifying to see that a few of you are actually trickling in here to see part 2 of this particular story.

There are almost 300 nominees listed in this one Koufax Award category, and since the nominees are listed alphabetically, this baby blog is found nearly at the bottom of the sixth screen out of twelve total -- smack-dab in the middle of the list -- so no one is likely to read Scientific Life because their eyes will be bleeding by the time they actually find it, regardless of the search paradigm they use (my strategy is to work my way up from the bottom).

Voting for the Koufax Awards begins at the end of the month, so you have lots of reading ahead of you for just this one category, dear readers (and keep in mind that Scientific Life was nominated for several more categories, too).

The polls for 2005 Koufax Awards are now open! There are 15 award categories, and a good representation of science bloggers (including ScienceBlogsers) among the nominees. Including (aw, shucks!) "Adventures in Ethics and Science" in the Best New Blog category. Of course, I would be honored if…

oh. well .. yeah, minor details.

do they give a badge that says we were finalists in the category? if not, i think they should! especially considering how many blogs are out there!
