Number One Song When You Were Conceived?

Josh Hosler has catalogued all of Billboard Magazine's number one songs since 1940.

So what was the number one song on the day you were conceived? The day you were born? The day you lost your virginity? The day you graduated? The day you were married? Or whatever other day that has some sort of special significance to you?

I'm game; the number one song on the day I defended (18 September 2002) was "Dilemma" by Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland. Honestly, I've never heard it and the lyrics are really stupid. Perhaps that is why things have not gone very well for me? I defended when the wrong song was at number one?

As the left traces of life left the body of John Lennon on Dec 8 1980, the number one song in the land was... "Lady" by Kenny Rogers.

There are some things I would rather not have known.

I remember there was some jokey site called popstrology.com that claimed to derive vast insights from the Number One sign you were born under.

I was delighted to discover that Number One the week I was born was Simon and Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson", a thoroughly excellent song. I know a lot of people who were born in the early Seventies and got saddled with some freaky, embarrassing stuff.

Looking just at my date of birth over the years, I find it interesting that I am familiar with songs and artists between around 1955 and 1985, and know almost nothing before or after that period (I was born in 1966).

On the day I was born, the number 1 song was "Roll with It" by Steve Winwood. On the day I finally escaped school, it was "Foolish" by Ashanti. The other important days in my life were after 12/19/2004, the last day the site catalogs the number 1 song of.

This seems appropriate somehow... Alley Oop by the Argyles.

Day I was born = "The Twist", by Chubby Checker.
Day I Defended my Ph.D. = "Rush Rush", by Paula Abdul

the day i was born - "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor. i find that kind of amusing. my graduation and wedding days, it was some ridiculous hip-hop song that i've never heard (different ones for the different days, but i didn't know any of them). when i defend my Ph.D. in a couple of years, i hope the #1 song is one i've heard.

I was born on the day Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It?" topped the charts.

I like it. :)

Born: "Every Breath You Take" by The Police...nice to come into the world knowing sting's stalking me.

It seems I was born (slightly premature), when "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)" by Three Dog Night was on top.
