The Hairy Potter

It reminds me of the script I wrote for The Order of the Phoenix:

Scene: Eeylop's Owl emporium. Eeylop is stood behind the counter.
Enter Harry Potter.
HP: Excuse me, I'd like to buy a phoenix.
E: I'm sorry. We're all out of them at the moment. Would you like us to order one for you?

I'm now working on a sequel in which Harry Potter returns to complain that he was sold a dead phoenix (it was nailed to its perch etc. etc.). I'm having a bit of a problem because there's a slight hole in the plot....
