This form should look familiar to those of you who live in the USA, but if you click on the "larger view" link, you'll realize this is yet another change that has been made to our existing tax code.

I am not sure about you guys, but I am already preparing my income taxes. Since I don't earn enough to qualify for the "economic stimulus package," I need to know how much I have to cough up this year so I have enough time to somehow come up with this sum so the IRS doesn't send their goons out to break my kneecaps on 16 April. Yes, forcing me to pay taxes when I earn far, far less than the poverty level is a social injustice since I could really use that (roughly) $430 that I will end up owing to meet my own needs, but alas, this is just another way that this country punishes the unemployed and the poor.

More like this

I object! I have a pet newt, and under this arrangement I would pay about $300 more a year. But the First President Bush explicitly promised me No Newt Taxes. Where do I complain?

I am no tax authority but have you looked into the earned income tax credit? I think you can qualify even if there are no dependents involved.

I have 5 parrots....oh boy, am I gonna make out like a bandit!

EricJuve -- i actually earned too much to qualify for the EIC .. shocking, i know, but i didn't earn enough to qualify for the economic stimulus package rebate .. also shocking, i know! so that said, with a little detective work, you can easily figure out what my income for 2008 was, within $49.

however, this year, it appears my blog income was high enough that i might possibly qualify for the economic stimulus rebate .. crosses fingers.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that is so messed up. I love my dog and if I have to pay I will. But I feel bad for all those pets that have ownwers that cant afford to pay because they will just be sent to a Shelter where if they are not adoted they will be put down. That is the stupidest law that they have enforced. Good luck little pets.... Its not there fault. They should enforce a law on hoe the fuck to fix all the damn streets with potholes... thats what they should really worry about. Seriously how is that going to minimize global warming????? Once they put the pets down they dont magically dissappear from this planet....
