Northern Pintail pair.

Northern Pintails, male (R) and female (L). Long thin tail feathers coming to a "pin" point, and buffy side rump patch on the male, with white line running down the side of tail. By the way, I love the Daily Mystery Bird feature. Thanks so much.

Oft seen bobbing for the mage-ribbed slithe, these Venusian natives can live equally well in water on the oxygen rich Earth as on their rocky barren CO2 laden home planet.

The butts have it!!! I'm going with mallard - I've seen many examples of this "end" of mallards lately at parks and lakes in the area recently.

I love duck butts!

I think they're pintails rather than mallards because of their gray, rather than orange, legs.
