Even though this is not a great picture for many reasons, I really like the angles and the contrasting shapes in this image. It would probably work better as a surreal painting than as a photograph, so I like to think of this image as a "working idea" rather than an actual "good photograph."

Very intriguing shot. I hope that you'll someday consider doing a book of your photos.
Actually, I think this is the best shot of yours that I have seen, it is excellently composed and other than needing flash to correct the exposure balance in the foreground, is very well executed.
If you work on building a portfolio of similarly creative images you are much more likely to earn the votes to get you to Antarctica.
Flash won't correct the lighting. It would stand out as artificial, unless you had several flash heads. HDRI would work better. Maybe even overdone a bit, to make the image look surreal.

I like it. I am reminded of living in Europe and drink beer. What's not to like? I agree with the HDR comment. It is a pain in the ass to get right, but the results can be rewarding.
