Sunset over the Baltic Sea.

This is a look at the sun as it sets over the Baltic Sea. I was ensconced in front of a window under a stairway (since the boat ran out of places to sit .. I know, this was almost impossible for me to believe, too, given the overall size of the ferry). I sat there in front of that window for the duration of the journey, drinking beer, taking pictures (nearly all of which were ruined by glare from the window glass) and, because ScienceBlogs was nonfunctional at the time, I twittered the world with news of the tremendous injustice of being a blog writer with a laptop, power, and free wifi in the middle of the Baltic Sea, whose blog was broken.

Tallink superferry on the Baltic Sea.

The sister ship to the one I was on passes us in the distance, on its way to Tallinn, Estonia, while the superferry I was riding was bringing me back to Helsinki, Finland. By the way, I was miffed that I did NOT get an Estonian stamp on my passport. The Estonian officials just cheerfully waved all of us invading Finnish hordes through the gates into Estonia, unchecked. Unstamped. It was absolutely disgusting, I tell you! It was just like ... crossing the border between Canada and America was a few years ago! Horrors! So much for homeland security! What would the Americans think if they knew of such free intercourse between two nations?

FYI: I've filled up four Flickr accounts with images and still have four days remaining in the month (I could have easily filled up five Flickr accounts this month, but slowed down with my photo uploads last week) so it looks like my photoessay orgasm must stop for now. Pooh. Either that, or open up another Flickr account, sigh!

Aw, pooh. I'll just open a fifth Flickr account. I can't last for four long days without posting a single image to my blog ...
