I'm a "morron"

This comment, posted to a Yahoo Finance forum by one dianasullivan1953 in response to a pointer to my recent post about the possible end of coal, was a great start to the day. I laughed for ages.

Some one smoking left handed cigarettes. wrote this memo.

What are the replacing coal with?

wHEN ARE THEY GROUNDING AIRPLANES.
They polute more than coal fired plants daily.

China is building three coal fire plants every month.

US is less than 4 % air polution. Fact.

Try tyelling Chian and India to stop coal usage.

This rfeport just like AL Gore invented then internet and
he has no nterest in Kleiner Perkins
if so he donates the 30 million he made last year. LOL

This article written by a morron.

What has me giggling is not the writer's poor spelling, grammar and syntax, or the incomprehensible reference to Al Gore (has anyone ever argued Gore isn't a member of Kleiner Perkins?), or even the factual errors (air travel represents 4% of GHG emissions, while the U.S. is responsible for about 27%). No, what gets me is that if Ms. Sullivan actually knew what she was talking about when it comes to the coal industry, her case would actually be stronger. China is building coal-fired plants at least twice as fast as she claims.

With enemies like these, who needs friends?

The coal industry's PR machine is in overdrive. Today's New York Times gives the dirtiest energy sector every invented a lot of space to make its case that coal power can save the world from climate change, free us from dependence on MidEast oil, enhance the economy and cure cancer. OK, it can't…
In the past week both Canada and the UK have announced a phase-out of conventional coal-fired power plants. Could this be the beginning of the end? Are we seeing the first stages of a global moratorium? Too soon, to tell of course. But it's encouraging. First, came the British news: Any new coal-…

Coal is turning out to be one of those political litmus-test issues for those worried about climate change. And as usual, the country is polarized. The Iowa Utilities Board is the on the side of angels. Holding the fort with Satan are Arkansas and Indiana, among others. It splits on predictable…

It's just a tpyo.

Obviously she meant to call you maroon.

Nah, it's obviously a careless misspelling of "moran".

(BTW, I hardly ever meet other people called Duncan. Two in the same comment thread is just wierd...)

Congratulations! Your Morron Award⢠will be arriving shortly: A lump of coal carved into the shape of an aeroplane, with the above letter loving painted on it by someone who's heard of Al Gore.

I call Deep Cover Liberal

I love the left handed cigarette comment. Is that suppose to be some reference to pot? (Only lefties smoke pot?) I think I'm going to use it.
