Returning from a non-wired vacation I find much has happened in the past couple of weeks. One team of researchers is arguing that sea levels won't rise as much as other fear, another team finds the northern peatlands will release more carbon than we once thought, a new study pegs the potential savings from energy efficiency at more than 20%and YouTube temporarily yanked a recent Climate Crock of the Week video for no good reason.
All worth exploring. But the best was the July 21 episode of The Daily Show in which Jon Stewart tries to explain the Markey-Waxman climate bill without falling asleep and interviews Energy Secretary Stephen Chu.

Last night Jon Stewart hosted the Israel/Palestine peace activists Anna Baltzer and Dr. Mustafa Barghouti. The angry response from the Pro-Israel crowd resulted in a backlash against the show for even having the discussion (including the show's first heckler in eleven years).

"YouTube temporarily yanked a recent Climate Crock of the Week video for no good reason"
YouTube yanked it for a very good reason (in order to maintain their safe harbour status). It was Watts who send a takedown notice with no good reason.

For the rest of the Canadians.
It is so unfortunate that John Stewart is one of the few people in the media that even proposes a different view on this "Climate Change Catastrophe". Even though I think Stewart is brilliant and funny as heck, it is seen as comedy and people usually take positive conservative issues as just that .....comedy (note the half-hearted applause when he says anything disparaging against the sacred "Climate Change Catastrophe"). But, when comedy is used to disparage Conservative ideology there is great applause and it is taken as serious. Unfortunately, this scientific subject has been politicized and is now "discussed" by clueless politicians and Hollywood types. Thanks for a GREAT post.
Nicest comedy video, I really enjoyed, I appreciate your work.
Thanks for a GREAT post.
Kissinger's Nobel Price does not count, anyway. As his Vietnamese counterpart stated in his rejection of the Price: There was no peace to get an award for. Kissinger's further record is vastly blood-strained anyway, as e. g. Christopher Hitchens showed.
