America is a strange country indeed; we want to know about what our future leaders are going to do about the economy, terrorism, and various social issues, but we don't ask that they be scientifically literate. In the ever-growing mass of debates held this year, it was even revealed that a number of republican candidates do not accept one of the most fundamental concepts in biology, and while liberal candidates often pay lip service to the threat of global climate change (and potential partial solutions in alternative energy sources), they have not demonstrated a firm grasp on science to date, either. While most of us are tired of debates by now, there is one kind of debate that is vastly important that has not been held; a Science Debate. Scientists and concerned citizens are signing up in support of setting up a forum in which potential presidential candidates can share their views on important scientific issues that not only affect every American citizen, but also the world and everything on it (i.e climate change). There has never been a more important time than now than to demand that the elected leader of this country be scientifically literate and well-informed, so please sign up in support of the Science Debate.

Gaah! Not you, too, Laelaps!
I thought you at least might be smart enough to realize that these are 'position statements', not 'debates'. I am disappointed and terrified to find otherwise.
