It shouldn't be a hassle to get between classes, but somehow Rutgers has made it so. The university has again increased the number of students without enough changes to accommodate the swollen body of undergraduates. Some have to stay in hotels because the residence halls are full, and you get to know many of your classmates much more intimately than you'd like on the buses. (From what I can tell too many men at this college are unfamiliar with deodorant. Yech.)
This is particularly galling when I get out of my math class at 10:15 PM on Thursdays. I see bus after bus pass carrying almost no passengers, but they're all "express" buses to Busch and Livingston campuses. When the "EE" bus arrives, however, it always full to bursting. Such is the case at any time of day, any day of the week. I've had to miss a number of buses and wait for the next one to come (usually a half hour later) because there simply isn't enough room.
There's not much I can do about the situation, but it is a bit stressful. Maybe I'll just walk next time.

I was on a REXB today where the driver had to kick people off because it was so full and we had to drive past one of the stops on Busch where people were waiting. But it was like this at certain times of day (ie: beginning and end) at the UofA, too, and there were way more buses that ran through there.
Are bikes banned on your campus?
I went to Michigan State, which has a somewhat large campus (45 minute walk from my dorm to my 8 am class) and i never once took the bus until May of my senior year, when a friend needed babysitting to get home safely. I did, however, become very skilled at snow biking :)
I walk to and from my office/classes from the parking lot (which is 15 minutes from my office on foot). There are busses, but they're always full and I can't stand to be on them. I find the walking gives me 15 minutes of peace and exercise, which is great when it's warm out and I'm not late.
:)
