I've been trying to tell people that raspberries are the best fruit.
Beautiful picture, Brian.
Thanks, Mike. I love 'em too. After an afternoon hiking around the woods, they were a welcome treat when we returned to the house.
That's awesome, Brian! I wish I had raspberry bushes in my yard. I miss that!
Yummy. For the last couple of years we haven't had many at all, at least for where I'm situated in Quebec, and this also goes for blueberries. My tummy certainly misses them. :-((
Okay, so why are you torturing us northern hemispherians? You know there won't be any until July or so next year. Just look at the evident pain and longing in some of the other comments. I think some of mine (red) in the yard have died due to the late summer drought, and it causes pain just to see a picture. Think, man, think! argh. Still, it's a lovely picture, sigh, rb
Steven & arby; I took that picture last Saturday here in New Jersey! We've had a few cold, frosty nights, though, so I'm sure that they were the last.
Oh cripes, autumn fruiters! Good for you, they look great. My one small patch of late bloomers is always a disappointment. Better than no raspberries at all, but nothing like the unknown variety of summer berries in my yard. Pretty much got skunked on them this fall, due to excessive dry. Yours look great, any idea what variety they are? enviously, rb
My music buddy used to have raspberries in his yard that produced fruit throughout the summer and fall. When we hung out at his place a favorite treat was to drink Blackthorne cider with a couple of berries dropped into the top.
The perfume of the berries was enough to change the flavor of the cider into something really, really nice. Large quantities or macerated berries weren't nearly as effective as three or four whole berries floating at the top of the glass...
