Anyone else notice the similarity between the teeth of this seal (I haven't looked in detail at many seal teeth) and the teeth of seagoing archaeocetes like Basilosaurus? Veeeery interesting...

It should be noted that this seal does not really eat crabs, as far as has been observed. This is, essentially, a filter feeder.

I think (some) early mysticetes had these teeth before their lip vibrissae inverted into balleen plates along the gum ridge.
