Is that a common location for otters?
That's weird. I didn't even know otters could climb trees.

I'm not sure which is more odd; that an otter might be in a tree, or that I had never considered that an otter might climb a tree and find the idea novel.
A whale in a redwood -- that's what I'd really like to see!
Or at least a sealion in a sequoia.
This was the first time I had seen these otters in a tree. Then again, it was the first time I had seen the trees in the enclosure.
I offer you the oxymoronic groundhog in a tree. When the drop out of the tree they make a sound like "flupp". No, they don't seem to bother climbing down, they just drop.
Thanks Kaethe! My wife actually saw one in a peach tree once. From what she said, it was not a happy groundhog.
Now that I live deep in groundhog country, I have learned that they like to go up and lie on branches in the sun. and of course, sometimes the run up a tree to get away from something else.
