Here's another sneak-peek at Life (this time with David Attenborough's narration) featuring one of my most favorite canids, the Ethiopian wolf (Canis simensis). Enjoy!
Here's a link to the portrait of this wolf, by the great (one of the greatest) wildlife artist Louis Agassiz Fuertes, at the peak of his skill. It's a beautiful picture. I had never seen video before, and it's clear that Fuertes captured some of their personality.
I am struck by the apparent blend of traits: these canids have the pack organization of wolves but the physique, color, and predatory styles of coyotes.
