He was in 1952, anyway. By way of Oliver Willis, from Glenn Hauman:
It goes without saying that Superman is an illegal immigrant, which, no doubt, is why he's spewing all this liberal crap.

Fall is my favorite time of the year. Part of it is the weather, part of it is the smell and the crispness of the air, and part of it is that basketball is starting again. Midnight madness, the official kickoff for the college basketball preseason, is this weekend, and the NBA is going through its…
Note added 2/10/2015: I've posted a followup in response to the skeptics who defend Bill Maher.
A couple of weeks ago, I noted the return of the antivaccine wingnut side of Bill Maher, after a (relative) absence of several years, dating back, most likely, to the thorough spanking he endured for…

Does the London Times routinely publish crackpot pseudoscience with no fact checking at all? I've just read their latest piece on the notorious Bryan Sykes, Bigfoot Hunter, and it's the kind of gullible tosh I'd expect from a Murdoch tabloid. It's got one paragraph that…
The Mystery of Equation 8 refers, and offers me my title.
For a while now, there has been some weird septic stuff floating around about how the planet is warmer-than-it-would-be-without-an-atmosphere not because of the greenhouse effect or anything like that, but because of gravity. Nikolov and…
Superman has been a liberal for the last 70+ years. Don't forget how he fought fascism too.
Superman is even more liberal when you compare him to Batman. Think about it. Newspaper reporter Clark Kent (damn liberal media!) vs wealthy industrialist Bruce Wayne (a self made man! except for the inheritance part -- down with the death tax!). Over the top boy-scout rescuer of damsels in distress who gets his power from yellow sunlight vs vigilante with "anything goes that doesn't kill" attitude towards crime prevention who works in the shadows of night. It's amazing they were able to stand one another in Justice League.
1952 is about five years after Superman fought the Ku Klux Klan on his radio show - with scripts based on reports from an undercover infiltrator, describing and (the uncivil horror!) mocking actual rituals and codewords.
