This cute kid makes a nice rant that I completely agree with, but yeesh—those aren't her words. She's playing dress-up and prancing in front of a camera, and reciting with child-like enthusiasm words someone else wrote for her. That bugs me.
My kids were brought up without religion, and I know…

This streaming video is an amusing but nonsensical reading of Doctor Seuss's Bible -- hey, it's kinda like the real Bible, isn't it? [2:29].
There was A LOT of stuff this week. Was this week particularly good for blogging or am I just aware of more blogs and blog posts in recent weeks? Am I paying more attention because of the new networks? Am I just filtering less, and including more in the round-up? Anyway, lots of awesome.

I loved the bit where 'and thus he spake' just comes out, and he doesn't know what to do anymore.
Kids in the Hall are still sorely missed. What a great way to start a Sunday.
that's it, i'm attending the new kids church. oh, sign seen on west vancouver church the other day:
Neiztche is Dead - God
i'll have to get a pic of that one before they change it.
Did the sign actually spell "Nietzsche" that way? Because that would be amusing.
Ah, the Kids in the Hall are great. It's interesting to that they had Scott Thompson as Jesus considering he's gay. Yet another arrow in the satyrical quiver to hit the fundies with, and you can never get enough of insulting the fundies. Excellent vid.
The Seuss Bible is certainly better than the original

Oh, the Good Doctor Suess strikes again!
"Now wait a minute Mr. PeeZee Myers! When Pharyngula's in the bottle where the Jesus pleasers battle with their paddles in your noodle, like a brutal eating strudel..... THIS is what they call... An Evil Jesus brutal strudel bottles paddled muddled duddled fuddled wuddled Christo-Fascist, sir!
"PZ Myers, our game is done, Sir. Thank you for a lot of fun , Sir."
Waitaminnitwaitaminnitwaitaminnit! That's not how it is?
Quote of the day:
"But, the kids are not going to church and they need to get it somewhere."
You can guess where that "somewhere" is. If you guessed "at home", then you're wrong.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, too,
Wednesday, Thursday just for you.
Friday, Saturday that's the end.
Now let's say those days again!
Yay!
At least it isn't Bibleman.
Hungry Hungry Tauren: I'm pretty sure that casting a gay guy to play Jesus was deliberate. Mind you, with that cast, it might be difficult not to. (See also Mark 14:51-52, though.)
