You can listen in on George Johnson's and Sean Carroll's conversation at Bloggingheads right now. I'm doing this next week with John Horgan, so I should have closed my eyes—Sean is so much prettier than I am.

Don't let that stop you, though. It's interesting stuff throughout, and one of the better dialogs I've seen on bloggingheads.

If you've been following the Bloggingheads site, you probably already know that the best thing on it is Science Saturday with John Horgan and George Johnson. Horgan and Johnson are splitting up for the next few weeks, and are getting different heads to make a pair. Next week, George Johnson and the…
Since the bloggingheads "diavlog" with David Dobbs and me was the first science-oriented installment to come out (more or less) since the repudiation of Bloggingheads.tv by Carl Zimmer and Sean Carrol, and now Phil Plait and PZ Myers, I think I should say something about why I did it and what I…
Thanks to David Killoren for directing me to this excerpt from Bloggingheads. Science writers John Horgan and George Johnson spend a few minutes disucssing the Monty Hall problem. Johnson recently reviewed Leonard Mlodinow's book The Drunkard's Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives, which…
You are probably familiar with the Bloggingheads website. The site, founded by Robert Wright, features conversations between various bloggers, journalists and scholars on whatever issues it amuses them to talk about. The site has long featured scientists among its participants. Two recent…

PZ, it's one of the better diavlogs, not dialogs;)

It's new. Clankers like "telephone" and "automobile" are so familiar you don't even sense them any more.

The world, and the language that we used to describe it, are for the young.

Should we call the new words blogogisms?

How about agogisms?

gogandmagogisms?

"How did blogging come to be afflicted with the ugliest, most tone-deaf neologisms in the universe?"

Well, it started with the word 'blog' and carried on logically from there.

Not to make you self conscious, PZ, but please try to find a happy middle ground between Sean Carroll's spooky staredown of the camera and George Johnson's much more disturbing tendency to talk to some spot on the floor to his right. (Horgan is just as bad in this respect, although his spot is somewhere on the ceiling.) Or perhaps, you and Horgan could coordinate your efforts and get a Brady-Bunch effect going.

I have a distinct impression that your knowledge of physic is about equal with mine of biology, PZ. I think you grope in the dark. I have a whole wall of physics books from ceiling to floor. I know the subject since my father was also a physicist all his books from the 50's and 50's are included. I really think feared debating me only because of my proposition because you are a physics ignoramus.

You are free to visit my proposition at the: http://topicaloctagon.blogspot.com/
and why don't you advertise it among your intelligent groupies?
