Science Showdown!

If you can't figure out basketball, but are looking to get in on the excitement of filling out bracket sheets and arguing about seeds, well, the boys at the World's Fair have got just the thing for you...

The Science Spring Showdown 2007

That's right, they've got brackets set up for the ultimate showdon of the sciences. Bosons vs. Fermions! Popper vs. Kuhn! Caffeine vs. Ethanol!

The only thing missing is numerical seeds, so we can argue about how on earth "Experiment" got stuck with a 12 seed vs. 5-seed "Theory"...

The main problem is that they seeded natural rivals against each other, where they should have seeded them in opposite brackets for the most part. Experiment and Theory should both have gotten #1 seeds in opposing brackets so that they could have had a showdown in the final round.

all valid points, yes, but our hands were tied -- you wouldn't believe the political pressure from the major conferences. we just tried to get as many of the the mid-majors in as we could. odd things fell out because of it, and experiment v theory was definitely one of them.

I'm betting the ranch on Logic to advance to the semi-sweet 32.
