Incidentally, about that first item from the Catholic World News: Brother Guy says that he doesn't know why this was published now, because this looks like a rehash of an article in "The Scotsman" over a year ago. Which, in turn, was a somewhat garbled account of something that he did say in a more-or-less off-the-cuff way.

Not that he disagrees with the general sentiment of the article, but he says that (a) "in its main message,that the Vatican supports modern astronomy, the story is actually true, but hardly news", and (b) he disclaims the last statement attributed to him in the article, which is kind of insulting to modern-day pagans.
