Tonight's Toddler Blogging features SteelyKid taking a picture of me taking a picture of her, while Appa does the forced perspective thing again:

The "camera" in this case is the salt shaker that came with her kitchen playset. Which is a versatile object, serving also as a drinking cup:

The beverage in question was "fish juice," squeezed from the green plastic fish you can just make out in her hand. She made us all drink some, despite the fact that it was, as she put it, "little tiny yucky."

I'm a little amazed we got these, because at dinner a little while earlier, she slipped off a chair and bonked her head, with many tears. It was apparently much more scary to watch than actually harmful, though, because while I had to resort to making a hippo puppet sing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" to get her to smile, once she stopped crying, she rebounded impressively, and chattered happily all through our evening walk to the store.

Never a dull moment in Chateau Steelypips.

More like this

She just bought two pairs of new shoes.
Yesterday was the funeral for my great-aunt Mildred, known within the family as "Auntie" (first syllable "ont" not "ant"), who fell and bumped her head last Friday, and just never woke up.
I'd like you to meet a friend of mine. Her name is Suzette. She's a very nice girl. She likes to talk - something, it turns out, she's very good at.
Today, I had to take care of some cats for a vacationing NYCer, so this meant that I had to brave the snow, slush and Lake Erie-sized mud-puddles in the process.
