Pure Nerd, baby

Pure Nerd
73 % Nerd, 26% Geek, 30% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.

The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful.

Congratulations!

Jake made me do it.

For the record, Jake is 86% nerd, Razib 82%, Bora 65%, Dave Munger 86%.

Yeah, that's me. Curious by nature, and if I find something I like, it's, "Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead." For example, I'm reading Sharpe's Fury by Bernard Cornwell. I own the other twenty books in the series and have been reading them since '93. Also, found out rather late in the game that one of my favorite bands, Massive Attack, was playing a gig here this week and I got to go the show at the last minute. On my way there, I stopped home to get the Massive Attack t-shirt I've had since '98. Geek-ish behavior I know, but I've been listening to them since the early 90s and who knows if I'll ever get to see them again.

Woo. 91% Nerd, 8% Geek, 34% Dork. Pretty well predictable, but my wife would probably be surprised at the "low" dork score.
