You can just barely see a large ocean-going Silja line vessel in the right side of the picture that was taller than the island when it floated by a few moments after I snapped this picture.
Unfortunately, you can see the reflection of the ferry in the window glass that I was photographing through. Bummer.

As far as I know, this is a fully functional sailboat that travels from one port to another, where it sets up as a restaurant for awhile, before moving on.
Unfortunately, you can see the reflection of the ferry in the window glass that I was photographing through. Bummer.

Suomenlinna is one of my two favorite haunts in Helsinki. Suomenlinna is an island fortress was built from stone by the Swedes to protect Finland (which was a part of Sweden in the 1700s) from invasion by sea.

You can see the pencil sketch on the artwork on the right side. I wish I could have returned later to photograph the finished piece.
More artworks, drawn in chalk on the floor of the Frankfurt subway station in Hauptwache (more photographs of these works in the days to follow, same time, same place).

New Year's Eve day was so misty that I could barely see out of the window of my flat, so I grabbed my cameras and went to a nearby farmer's field to photograph trees. Unfortunately, the fog was thicker 40 meters above the ground, so the trees did not appear to be as magical as I had hoped. In this image, I…

[Mystery bird] Christmas Duck, Anas noellus, photographed in a kitchen on the 13th floor of an apartment building in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Unlike most mystery birds, this individual came with a label indicating that it originated in France. [I might identify this bird for you in 48 hours]

Please name at least one field mark that supports your identification.
Yes, I did roast this duck a little longer, after so rudely slicing into the leg like that.
