Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Image: GrrlScientist, 18 December 2009 [larger view]. Are you getting bored of looking at photographs of Frankfurt yet? Well, if so, you would have appreciated this morning's image because the snowclouds were so thick that the city had completely disappeared. I tried to get a picture of that for you, but realized that you would not be able to distinguish that photograph from one taken of…

Image: GrrlScientist, 16 December 2009 [larger view]. Last night, on my way home from my first ever Christmas party in Germany, I happened upon this church in the darkness.

Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Image: GrrlScientist, 16 December 2009 [larger view]. When I awoke today, it was snowing. By late morning, the snow was falling fairly heavily, as you see in this image, where Frankfurt's distinct "Asparagus" (communications) Tower is barely visible.

Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Image: GrrlScientist, 15 December 2009 [larger view]. Whilst coming home from IKEA, where my spouse and I finally made a decision on how to design our kitchen, I photographed this lovely scene. In the distance is the smokestack tower that is located near to, and east of, my flat.

As you can see in this image, Frankfurt am Main is giving NYC some competition in the "does Christmas extremely well" category. I think I am being spoiled by living in these two cites at Christmas since they both are class acts in my opinion.

Image: GrrlScientist, 24 November 2009 [larger view]. Overall, I have been disappointed with the subway art in Frankfurt -- something that makes me appreciate NYC subway art even more than I had before. That said, this one man is the exception to my disappointment. Here he is, making chalk art on the floor of one of the subway stations. I was told that he does this every weekday and then the artwork is…

tags: Columbus Circle, NYC, photography, NYC through my eye, image of the day Columbus Circle, NYC, USA. Image: GrrlScientist, 17 November 2009 [larger view]. Okay, this is all in this photo series. Sorry about this, but of course, I do have thousands of images of NYC that I haven't used on my blog, so if you really wish to see more images of NYC, I can certainly dig them up for you. This weekend, I plan to get out and start photographing my new home: Frankfurt am Main, and the surrounding areas.

This is one in a series of images I took on one of my last days in NYC. This was the last day I carried my camera with me as I ran around, collecting paperwork for my impending emigration. The day was glorious, the weather, perfect.

Delta Airlines sent me an email, telling me it is time to check in for my return flight to the USA, which departs tomorrow at 1140am from Frankfurt. What do you think; should I return?

This is one in a series of images I took on one of my last days in NYC. This was the last day I carried my camera with me as I ran around, collecting paperwork for my impending emigration. The day was glorious, the weather, perfect. It's rare days (in NYC) like this that made me wonder what I was doing to leave for a city I've never seen, and to live in a country I've never visited.
tags: horses, carriage horses, Helsinki, Finland, travel Helsinki has carriage horses in its parks, just as NYC does. Image: GrrlScientist, 5 July 2009 [larger view]. I only photographed these horses, I didn't go for a carriage ride, although I think a carriage ride would have been fun (even though it was raining frequently throughout this day). Unlike NYC carriage horses, most of which are quite fond of people, these horses were quite cross and seemed to really hate people. Helsinki has carriage horses in its parks, just as NYC does. Here's a look at the Kauppatori open air market from a little coffee tent that my friend and I (and close to 50 other people) hid under after it started to rain. The Kauppatori open air market looks like almost any other open air market in the United States, and probably in most European countries. Fresh produce, Kauppatori open air market, Helsinki, Finland.
