When I awoke today, it was snowing. By late morning, the snow was falling fairly heavily, as you see in this image, where Frankfurt's distinct "Asparagus" (communications) Tower is barely visible.

As you can see in this image, Frankfurt am Main is giving NYC some competition in the "does Christmas extremely well" category. I think I am being spoiled by living in these two cites at Christmas since they both are class acts in my opinion.

Overall, I have been disappointed with the subway art in Frankfurt -- something that makes me appreciate NYC subway art even more than I had before. The day was glorious, the weather, perfect. It's rare days (in NYC) like this that made me wonder what I was doing to leave for a city I've never seen, and to live in a country I've never visited.

Helsinki has carriage horses in its parks, just as NYC does.

I only photographed these horses, I didn't go for a carriage ride, although I think a carriage ride would have been fun (even though it was raining frequently throughout this day).
Unlike NYC carriage horses, most of which are quite fond of people, these horses were quite cross and seemed to really hate people.
Helsinki has carriage horses in its parks, just as NYC does.

The Kauppatori open air market looks like almost any other open air market in the United States, and probably in most European countries.
