Even short Rod Dreher

Belle summarizes it as: "You know, although I’d listened to the Black Sabbath song ‘War Pigs’ many times before, I felt now as if only now I were hearing it for the first time."

I would go with "Why, oh why?, didn't we listen to the hippies?"

Or at least I would have gone with Dylan's "Masters of War."

Due to work stuff, I'm very busy this week, and I don't have time to write a detailed pathological language post, so I chose something that doesn't take a lot of explanation, but
While browser over at programming.reddit.com, I came across something simultaneously hideous and amazing.
I saw it at Julie's.
"American Music," the Violent Femmes "California Stars," Billy Bragg and Wilco "The City of New Orleans," Arlo Guthrie "Song to Woody," Bob Dylan "The Body of an American," the Pogues

I am/was one of those mostly-ignored hippies. If the "conservatives" had merely listened to Barry Goldwater it would have been a massive improvement over what actually happened. But no, they chose the eutectic of stupid as their guide.

I think we need to give the President and his team a little more credit. Talking about fighting is fundamentally different than fighting. And in fact, if done right can prevent a fight. Iran has been making trouble. We are talking back. Isn't a conversation what we wanted the President to do -- talk more?

The issue here is not Iran, but Iraq.
