Disco. Inst. blogger: Ban marriage

Martin Cothran, blogger for the Disco. Inst., opposes gay marriage, and wonders:

If their relationships are already stable, then why do they need to be stabilized?

Compelling logic. Clearly, marriage is useless.

Of course, evidence suggests that marriage actually does have a stabilizing effect on people. And gay people, it turns out, are people, too.

It can be difficult to understand creationists at times. Last week, I observed Disco. Inst. blogger Martin Cothran wondered: "If their relationships are already stable, then why do they need to be stabilized?" Cothran only applies that logic to teh gays, of course. I pointed out that the same…
Last year, we spent a lot of time mocking the self-righteous bigotry of Martin Cothran. Cothran, who works for the Kentucky affiliate of Focus on the Family and blogs for the Disco. Inst., objects to gays having an equal right to marriage, and thinks it's hateful to call him a bigot for his anti-…
Apologies for the profanity in the cartoon above, but it is as nothing compared to the eldritch horror quoted below. I offer Penny Arcade's theory as a possible explanation of where this comes from. Martin Cothran, who blogs for the Disco. Inst., who purports to teach logic (though he's has odd…
Martin Cothran, bigoted Disco. Inst. blogger and staffer with the Kentucky affiliate of Focus on the Family, is very worried. Having pitched a hissyfit when his bigotry was called bigotry, he is now worried about What McCarthy would do if he were gay. He does this without any jokes at all about…

Searching, serious question. Is it any of your business?

Then why does ANYONE need to get married?

It's not about "stability" it's about the legal and civil benefits, and about not being explicitly labeled a second-class citizen.

If I hadn't long ago lost my ability to be surprised by anything the DI does, bringing Cothran aboard. Based on my interactions with him, I'm confident Cothran's greatest talent is his refusal to ever correctly represent an opponent's position.

...wait. Maybe he's a good fit after all.
