Curse my being on a different continent! I loved GGS.

As a complete layman, I of course have no idea as to whether said book is accurate in its data and conclusions (commentary from those who are actually qualified would be useful), but it is beautifully written and contains a wide range of useful ideas about how the world works.

Jared Diamond! Two fisted adventurer! Man of Action!

Sorry, I just envy him having a cool Hollywood type name. Too bad I can't go, deadline to close.
