PubMed is an on-line database at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) that contains information from scientific literature. Most of the information is related to medical research. To search PubMed, you use a program called Entrez. You go to the NCBI, select PubMed from the…
If you believe the maxim "the more the merrier," then you would have LOVED the session which I am proud to say was my first as a moderator. I wasn't alone - nine other fantastic people worked with me. Our collective goal was to do the impossible: to give a complete 101 on how to explain science in…
A couple of weeks ago, after one of my Forbes posts, I got contacted by a publicist working for Makey Makey. They really wanted publicity in Forbes, but that's above my pay grade; I did, however, say that it sounded like the sort of thing my kids would get a kick out of, and I could mention it here…

The pdfs are right there on the page. Plus the feature that alows you to browsing recent journal editions is great - it's like handling a virtual copy of the journal on your screen.

I've been told that Pubget was developed here at Harvard and may not be totally functional within other institutional frameworks.

Thanks for the blog entry. It was indeed developed right here with Harvard, MGH, MIT and with help also now from UCSF. The [latest] feature is very popular - I am so glad you like it. You can also try keepers - this lets you tag/label and share collections of PDFs via email, html or javascript.
If you want some flyers for your department, let me know and I can drop some by when I am next on the Quad.
We are going to open it up to more institutions soon, so if your readers what it at their institution added, they can fill out our request here (http://pubget.com/site/page/contact_box) and we will add them.

Pffft. It's nice, but it's not that great!

But it is fantastic that BMC Evol Biol is up there with Nature, NEJM and Nuc Acids Res as one of the "top journals" today.

Looks great - I lookforward to trying it.

Has anyone looked into integrating Pubget with Papers (http://mekentosj.com/papers/), in my opinion the best way to store, organize, search, and read pdf's on a Macintosh?
