This is unbelievable. The Nobel Laureates for Obama effort just sent me an updated letter with an additional 11 names bringing the total to 76 Nobel laureates in science endorsing Obama. That completely eclipses the previous record of 47 endorsing Kerry and it is more than have ever endorsed anything in history.
Now, this is no group of sycophants, these are some of the greatest minds of our nation, so it is really impossible to view this as some sort of partisan blindness. I can't help but think that the recent ridiculous comments of both McCain and Palin on science have something to to do with the new additions, but to their credit, they limit their statement to science, something they know a little about. For those of you have been asking, I do not know of a single Nobelist in science who has endorsed McCain/Palin.
The updated letter can be found HERE (pdf).

Now that is a truly diverse group. The few I know personally on this list fall across the political spectrum.
Unfortunately most voters don't care about what scientists say because they don't have any understanding of the role of basic science in their life.
Hopefully, us scientifically minded people won't use this as a reason to mount an argument-from-authority. (Regardless of how tempting it might be.)
How many living American science laureates are there, after all?

Now that's what actually called a diverse group.
Do you really think Obama was deserved for Noble prize, this prize must be given for result, not merely for efforts

The reason not a single science laureate endorses McCain or Palin is because they both defy pretty much every theory regarding the evolution of the human race.

I didn't realize so many nobel laureates endorsed Obama. It was for good reason though. I really can't imagine any of them endorsing anybody with Sarah Palin as the VP candidate.
Just found this It's hard to believe that so many smart people could agree on 1 thing
I think it was quite a wise choice to select obama for the peace prize. I truly believe he will achieve great things in 2010
interesting its great Obama is getting the respect he deserves
I have never thought that Obama will get the peace prize well he get what he deserves.
Wow most of commenter in this site are supported Obama, I'm in the other site earlier, And most of the commenter there are saying bad things to Barak Obama. They say Obama Is an antichrist. Well, I like it here because i supported Obama too.
This is great. At least some of the brightest people said that Obama deserves some praise. However, in my opinion, nothign beats the pulse of the public and the masses. WEll, thanks anyways for sharing the news here.
Reality based people agree it's a good combination. I can't wait until the sciences get back on the respected track they should be in this country. And faith based quackery gets relegated to the back burner once again.
Good for these Nobel Laureates!

Other like this have no effect. Sad but these people generally are ignored by the press every 4 years.
