Robotic Autonomous Flying Penguins. Festo = Skynet

Festo is officially my new favorite company, supplanting Gama-Go even with their squid wallets. With a seemingly limitless budget to create non-commercially viable robots, Festo is run by Morgan Freeman, who now goes exclusively by the moniker Lucius Fox.

As if flying death jellyfish weren't enough, Festo now brings us flying death penguins... Death March of the Penguins if you will.

Lucius you sly bastard.......

I know what to get Craig for his birthday! From Gama-Go: "This bag is built to last, constructed from a tough, water-resistant cordura nylon shell with a ripstop polyester interior lining and velcro closure. Keep your gear in order with three handy front pockets under the flap and a large slip…
Morgan Freeman is one of those actors who is always good, even if the movie is bad. Most recently I saw him in in Now You See Me, which I enjoyed, despite its preposterous story. He is also a big science booster. He hosts the show Through the Wormhole on the Science Channel. So, all in all, I'm…
It would be nice. Hey, a few years ago one of our local affiliates was bought by Fox. So one day you have Robin and Jeff doing a pretty darn good job of delivering the news, and the next day you have the same people ... Robin and Jeff ... screaming sensationalist crap into the news camera. Same…
Festo, a German engineering firm known for finding inspiration in biology, recently unveiled its two newest robots at the Hannover Festival. Picture courtesy of Gizmodo The AquaJelly and AirJelly share the same basic form - a sphere surrounded by eight mechanical tentacles run off lithium-ion…

The flying death penguins and the haunted wall are both right out of the movies. How cool would it be to see them together? (particularly if the penguins are fitted with laser guns and the walls can swallow you with hidden trap doors--there I go again)

no shout-out for the Air Ray? they did that one before the Jelly

i've been wondering if the flying penguins are technically "ornithopters". probably not, because, like the Ray and Jelly, they're lighter-than-air craft. am i too pedantic?

I, for one, welcome our new mechanical Penguin overlords and I move that we commemorate their coming by remaking the movie Happy Feet to give each character ice-cold glowing blue eyes.

Wow. The title was honestly laughable until I watched the video. Cheers to technology. O_O

Festo are cool but skynet were always evil. Festo are more like Tyrell Corp.

I am working with Festo and i am really glad to work with them. How cool would it be to see them together? (particularly if the penguins are fitted with laser guns and the walls can swallow you with hidden trap doors--there I go again)
