Word is that Mary Cleave's successor as director of Science Mission at NASA has been announced.
Yesterday I had been invited to speak at a seminar organised by the Forum for Heritage Research, a network sponsored by four Swedish organisations in the field.
Larry Moran is unhappy with me. This is fine; I knew that posting "On the need for grownups" would get people angry, and it did. I hoped it would spark some productive discussion, and it has, at least via email.

My favourite of these would be NGC 1275 which has now been tracked down and made my desktop wallpaper.

Overall, my favourite astronomy pics would have included the europan volcanos and the martian dust devils, but what do I know.
