I actually got the "heads up" about this last night in time to catch the west coast showing.
Cancelling on the Daily Show clearly inspires them to ever greater journalism.
If you didn't see this, you ought to watch it.
Plus, all the kewl kids are posting it, so this way you don't have to go to their blogs to find the links.
Classic television.
Great journalism.

There was a nice interview on the Daily Show with former NIH director and Nobel laureate Harold Varmus. Good on Jon Stewart for having him, he got to make the kind of points you wouldn't usually on a book tour. He touches on some interesting points regarding just how science funding works in…
Agree completely about great journalist bit. Jon Stewart is actually a much better journalist than many of the "real" ones despite his self-deprecating fake news persona. His guest list is also rather eclectic. Most mainstream shows wouldn't have had someone like Evo Morales on.
Stewart was definitely on his game here. Santelli made the mistake of blowing off the show, and he deservedly gets some ribbing for it.
This bit has definitely gone viral: yours is the fourth site I have seen link to it (I first saw it at Talking Points Memo, and later from Barry Ritholtz and Calculated Risk). If anybody reading this hasn't watched it yet, it's definitely worth the 8.5 minutes.
I saw this on the Daily Kos this morning. Fabulous job by Jon Stewart and crew; I never did like CNBC anyway.
