Paper was manufactured in China from the 2nd century BCE so that should read "two thousand years".
paper has been made by insects such as wasps for millions of years.
Humans making paper goes back thousands of years and was not used for writing but as a wrapper or other uses. Who wrote or had a quill and ink? Paper making is much older than writing.
Its interesting to think about.
