ScienceBlogs visitors prefer href="http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/" rel="tag">Firefox.
If you lump together all the open-source browsers, they
account for over 50% of the page views here.

Highly-educated users use Firefox.

In June, I put up a post noting that open-source browsers accounted for more than 50% of the hits at ScienceBlogs.  At that time, Firefox was 48.17%.  Since then, Microsoft released IE7, which includes a tabbed interface, and other enhancements that Firefox (and others, e.g. Opera and Safari) have…

I've been holding back on this one, but it is time to speak out.  On November 2, 2006, href="http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/articlenews.aspx?type=technologyNews&storyid=2006-11-02T230517Z_01_WEN9025_RTRIDST_0_TECH-MICROSOFT-NOVELL-BALLMER-DC.XML">Microsoft and Novell announced a deal.  …

I use Opera but have it set to identify as Mozilla on most sites. I wonder if there are Opera users that are under-represented in the graph that are "identifying as" Mozilla or IE for html compatibility issues.

I've used Opera before, even recently, but went back to Firefox because of some of the extensions. Opera is reputed to be very fast, and I agree that it seems more responsive than any other browser (inlcuding Firefox).

What about operating systems? It would be interesting if there are more Linux or Mac users than on average.

Konquorer users often change their identification as well. In fact, using a Konquorer browser was the first time I saw that really nifty feature!

I guess I'm a glass-half-empty kind of guy, because I look at that chart and see 1) a pie chart? Get thee behind me, Satan, and 2) there's a giant toxic wedge of Internet Explorer in there. Worst browser ever, and so many people use it.

As for OS data: Mac is about 15%, Linux about 5%.
