Down Syndrome's Dolls.

One of this year's top finalists in the Intel Science Talent Search is a High School student studying self image of children with Down's Syndrome, using dolls.

Such creativity gives me hope for our next generation of scientists. This competition has launched many careers, including my own when I was a finalist in the then Westinghouse Science Talent competition {my topic was not as interesting, in retrospect.}

Below are the top 40 finalists. I love the diversity of topics!

Breaking news....they've just announced the grand award winners at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. And I'm absolutely thrilled to tears to announce that the top three prize winners are all girls! One more nail in the coffin for those who say that girls can't do science, math,…

These kids make me feel incredibly stupid.

And the high school I went to, I think putting together a crystal radio set would have been seen as astonishingly technical. >_<
