Christmas dog blogging

Blogging is likely to be light to non-existent this week because I'll be in Perisher on holidays. It's a National Park so poor Silas can't come and has to stay home with the house sitter.

This has been a bountiful week at Chez Pharyngula, and I have received generous gifts from several readers. A full accounting lies below the fold. Why, yes. Yes, I do. Readers from Winnipeg visited the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre and reported on what they found there…and they sent me a t-shirt…
A predictably stupid discussion of this xkcd cartoon in a place I can't link to reminded me that I haven't posted the list of Christmas songs that don't suck yet this year. This has expanded somewhat since last year, thanks to some recommendations from readers, so it's worth posting again to see if…
It's Christmas Eve, and the blogging is light. I was going to have some fun with a truly ridiculous—is there ever any other kind?—segment on Dr. Oz's show in which he actually combined a quack and a psychic with some EEGs to become a "100% believer" in psychic scammer "Long Island Medium" Theresa…
When Richard Dawkins and Bill O'Reilly are on the same side of an issue, it's a surprise. When it's an issue that involves religion in the public sphere, it's quite possibly a sign that the apocalypse is drawing nigh. Nevertheless, that seems to be the case at the moment. Bill O'Reilly's views…

A belated Merry Christmas, Mr L. Nice pooch!

It's so sad to see these other commenters have been misled by the false claims that it's a "Merry Christmas" (although RobW will concede it is at least slightly "belated"). In fact, as every major serious news outlet has reported, Christmas is not merry at all -- in fact, it has been undermined by secularist liberals at every turn.

It's no surprise that Lambert's coterie of statisticians have bought into this new left-wing ploy. And while dsquared hasn't said anything on the subject yet, I expect him to jump in here at any minute defending these absurd propositions with his tendentious logic.

The fact remains, as anyone who has left the group of the tenured radicals that now control American (and apparently Australian) academia would know, that Christmas is undersiege and defending itself against a full-scale war by the secular grinches funded by George Soros. How long will Lambert pretend otherwise?

OK, that had to be a parody by somebody posting as Seixon, right? Please?

Yes but don't question the dog's sexual preference.
