I'm holding out for the raisin bunker myself.

Anyone heard of a Russian marine geologist by the name of Oleg Sorokhtin? An article in RIA Novosti is getting some traction in the right-wing blogosphere of late (http://en.rian.ru/analysis/20080103/94768732.html). For someone with a doctorate, it seems to contain a lot of erros and make a lot of claims (all unsourced, by the way). Also strange that is just surfacing now, when it was published earlier this year.

It's easy enough to counter as most of the claims he makes have been well and truly dealt with and dismissed here, on Real Climate and Grist. The 'hothouse' and 'nitrogen peroxide' references are a little bizarre, with both terms disappearing out of popular use in the 1930s. Surely Russian science isn't that far out of touch?

Well, this open thread seems to confirm it (Dano not withstanding) that if I don't post something dumb, then nobody has any fun.

Re: #6.

Patience Grasshopper.

You are not alone in your skills, as cohenite's antics on the Duffy thread indicate.

All you needed to do was wait.

I just HAVE to point you to Emma Tom's piece in The Australian on Thursday, as the most sensible article re action on climate change that I have seen in a long time, particularly in The Australian.
