Bork and Jesus?

Jason Kuznicki spotted this at Farkleberries and it's hilarious. This woman named Veronica Lueken, who claims to be in regular contact with Jesus and his mother, has interspersed quotes from the two of them along with quotes from and pictures of Robert Bork about the evils of homosexuality. It includes this juicy "quote" from the big JC himself:

"And the great issue now of homosexuality in your country, that shall be on the balance that Michael holds. Unless this balance is evened by removing this evil from your country and bringing in just laws to prevent the spread of homosexuality, you cannot be saved; your country cannot be saved."

So it appears that Jesus himself is a Christian reconstructionist. Who woulda thunk it? Of course, she may be on to something. I mean, the Rev. Moon also talks to Jesus regularly (and to every dead person in history, evidently) and he thinks gays should be eliminated too. Man, these people better hope that their religion is wrong. Because if there is a Christ and he's the same one who said, "Whatever you do to the least of these, my brethren, you do unto me also", they're in for one hell of a shock.

This is a few days old, now, but Truth and Beauty Bombs has done something I would've thought impossible: They've suggested a way to make Garfield amusing. Who woulda thunk it? It's not as deeply and gloriously wrong as yesterday's Medium Large, but it's weirdly compelling. (Via a mailing list.)
...and Donald Rumsfeld? From the AP: "He [Rumsfeld] leads in a way that the good Lord tells him is best for our country," said Marine General Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Ordinarily, I would simply think that this is more Republican cynicism about religion, but I'm not so…
Two more automatic bids handed out last night: Central Connecticut: The Blue Devils beat Sacred Heart in a battle of small Connecticut schools, winning the Northeast Conference title behind 25 points from Javier Mojica. The high-profile UConn Huskies lost to Syracuse yesterday in the Big East…
Over at IDolator Bill Dembski's blog, Denyse "Buy My Book" O'Leary has been on a tear lately, blogging about the supposed racism inherent in evolution. Fellow blog contributor DaveScot responded with a long post observing that the leadership of racist groups today and in the past are often…

Well Ed,

Jesus talks to me too, but through the scriptures, not personally. As you know from by blog, the message I receive is quite different than the one you take note of, as in my In the Garden of Eden post.

You're on to something. The future holds a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth for some people, that's for sure.

Wow, who'd have thunk it, Jesus sounds just like Osama or your run of the mill ayatollah.
