Exorcising the Clintons

There's a new book out about Karl Rove called The Architect: Karl Rove and the Master Plan for Absolute Power. One of the stories in the book comes from a former professor from Fordham named Deal Hudson, who was hired by Rove to help court the Catholic vote for Bush. Hudson described an actual ceremony that he witnessed in the White House in 2001 where Rove had an exorcism performed to rid his west wing office, formerly used by Hillary Clinton, of its "left wing spirit". Now I can see why they'd use some disinfectant around Bill Clinton's desk, but this seems a little over the top to me.

Every day this whole administration sounds more and more like something out of bizzaro world...

This is the same book that confirms the rumours about Rove's dad being gay. Although it also states that father and son have a "very good relationship"... just like Cheney and his daughter.Apparently, "family values" means shutting up and taking it when your relatives piss on you for political gain...

The book's author also says that Rove is an agnostic. So a Hillary-spirit exorcism would be Rove's nasty little inside joke?

It wouldn't surprise me if the exorcism bit were true. It also wouldn't surprise me if Rove was an agnostic. The sort of cognitive dissonance those two facts create are the hallmark of the administration for the last 6 years.

Oh yeah, Clinton was SOOOO left wing, lemme tell you.
NAFTA, GATT, Don't ask/Don't tell, Telecommunications Act, Welfare Reform Bill, farm deregulation, etc. are all things that any Republican president would love to get credit for. I think the reason Republicans hate Bill Clinton so much is because he stole all their glory when it came to "free" market domestic policies and hawkish foreign policies.
