The finalists for the 2007 Blogging Scholarship have been announced. There's 20 of them, and, from a quick perusal of the list, it appears that four of them are science bloggers. Two of those four are familiar to evolgen: Shelley of Retrospectacle and Kambiz of Anthropology.net. The other two are new to me, but appear to have actual science content: The Big Room and The Biourbanist.
At this point, you're probably expecting me to tell you to go to the voting page and click a particular finalist. Well, I'm not going to do that. If you are a fan of science blogging, however, I suggest you vote for one of the four finalists linked above. If not, why the fuck are you reading this blog?

You may be aware of the $5000 scholarship for students who are science bloggers.
Now the 10 finalists have been announced and you should go here to cast your vote.
I have initially nominated (and will vote for) Jenna (Jennifer Wong) of Cyberspace Rendezvous which is, in my opinion, the best student…
Fellow ScienceBlogger Shelley Batts is a finalist for a student blogging scholarship. Not only is she a fine blogger, but she shares with me a connection with the University of Michigan, where she is now working on her Ph.D. and where I got both my undergraduate and graduate degrees.
So, with that…
The results for the 3rd Annual Blogging Scholarship are in, and, I'm sad to say, I did not win. I came in 5th, and the winners were The Burnt Orange Report, USS Mariner, and American Papist.
I must admit that I am little disappointed, but as I have said before, I wasn't expecting to win. It's not…
Fellow ScienceBlogger Shelly Batts of Retrospectacle was chosen this last week as a finalist for a blogging scholarship being offered by Scholarships Around the US. She's a hell of a blogger, and I think she deserves our support. If you agree, you have until midnight (Eastern Time) TONIGHT to…
I may not be a ScienceBloggerâ¢, but I am a regular ScienceBlogs⢠reader, and a little-s.b. science blogger.
As operator and self-proclaimed maybe-genius of The Big Room, I wanted to say thank you for noticing, and:
While I still have hope and would love to win some scholarship money, I'm not going to be the least bit surprised if Famous ScienceBlogger⢠Shelley Batts whoops my butt (and everyone else's) this year. Hey, I voted for her myself last year...
I am more interested, though, in attracting interested readers, so even if you (Evolgen AND everyone else reading this) don't feel like voting for me please consider making some comments and suggestions on some of my posts.
If nothing else, perhaps I can attract enough of a fan-base to have a better shot at the prize next year from graduate school...
As chief of the other small-time science blog in the running, I second Sean's thoughts. Since The Big Room and The Biourbanist are currently only in heated competition for second-to-last-place, we would really prefer interested readers more than voters. Come visit either one of our blogs.
