Focusing on What's Really Important

I was going to write a real barn burner of a post about the big election, but then I came across this:

Folks, sometimes you just have to focus on the good things in life.

Thank God it's Friday. Work moves to the back burner, social issues move to the front burner. This week we provide two underwater movies to help your work hours pass quickly.
Apparently, I had screwed up the feed burner feed here. My bloglines subscription for this blog was showing no signs of activity for the past few days. It's fixed now.
Inquiring minds want to know: what's a feminist activist, and how should she dress?
Later today I will hop into the Jasonmobile and sally forth to Richmond, VA, where I will be the guest speaker in the Discrete Math Seminar at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Folks, sometimes you just have to focus on the good things in life.

Like the fact that the entire original series is available on DVD [grin].

Turning him into the annoying, arrogant wunderkind really doesn't work for me. He looks too young to be established and doesn't show the quiet confidence of the original, instead showing arrogance and that he thinks he's "cool". This ... does not look promising, at least to me.

I agree. Richard Dean Anderson was perfectly cast as the original MacGyver. I'm skeptical of Lucas Till, and I'm not too sure about the way new MacGyver is written. But I'll give it a chance!

They should have used the opportunity to showcase some diversity. Who wouldn't want to see a black latina lesbian quadriplegic as MacGyver?

"This video is not available." :)

Honestly I always thought MacGyver was basically "A Team-lite" when it originally aired, and even the A Team hasn't really aged well. If they have to revitalise an old 80s show, might I offer instead Quantum Leap as an alternative?
