Sarah Palin Plans to Run Republican Party From Now On

From Think Progress:

...tensions between the Palin and McCain camps are increasing in the waning days of the campaign. Palin reportedly "has decided increasingly to disregard the advice of the former Bush aides tasked to handle her," blaming "her handlers for a botched rollout and a tarnished public image." A McCain campaign source: "She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone ... she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: divas trust only unto themselves as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."

Ah, Sarah babe, you don't quite get it, do you. Not even the leadership of the Republican Party takes you seriously, Sarah. If you are lucky they'll let you hold towels in the bathroom. They picked you to be the woman they ran because they didn't want any trouble from an actual woman. (By that I mean an actual qualified politico with two X chromosomes).

The Democrats: Now, they have a couple/few women running their party. And they are going to kick your ass.

Palin has totally jumped the tracks. I watched the video of her at Huffington Post where she is claiming that Obama is planning to convert the US to communism.

McCain should have known that a maverick will try to out-maverick any other maverick.

Too dumb to make her own decisions. Or to write her speeches
(see Pharyngula.

Can't recall if Greg covered it here but did anyone read the NYT article a couple Sundays ago about the origin of the word "maverick?" Even the Maverick family is pissed at how it is being used by McCain and Palin.

Scariest part of this is just how many people think this development just couldn't be better. The people she 'speaks' to have never had anyone they felt addressed them so precisely (outside of church anyway). The upside is, of course, that she's adding to Obama's popularity with every crazy thing she says. We're not talking the snake handlers here since they will vote for the most conservative nutjob they can find, but the undecided voters are getting a look at the 'Palin' future and they increasingly don't like it.

If Palin is really the maverick she claims to be, why does she belong to a major political party?
If she and McCain are just a coupla mavericks, why does the McCain campaign follow the Bush strategergy of fighting against science (as demonstrated by the speech she recited wherein she trivialized fruit fly research)?

It seems the McCain campaign can dress her up, but they can't let her out.

... botched rollout ...?

What am I missing here?

Her introduction and speech at the Repub Nat'l Convention was, sfaik, considered a huge success.

It was only the follow-up (i.e., everything since) that hasn't worked.

Pierce: It is she who is blaming the 'handlers' for the botched roll out. Since everything she has done since the not-so-botched roll out is wrong, and this is something she said after the non-so-botched roll out, it all makes sense in a nonsensical kind of way.
