Creation, the Movie, in Edina

Don't forget:

Meal and Reel, Feb 19, Creation w/special guest Greg Laden at Edina Cinema

We have established a plan: The Great Wall at 6:00, the movie is at the theater, about one mile to the south at 7:20. So, arriving at the restaurant in a timely fashion, and ordering right away is essential. There will be a section of the theater blocked off for us. Thanks to Jack Caravela for organizing this.

I'm keeping busy here — we had a packed house at my talk (which was all wonky sciencey biology stuff) last night, I did a press conference this morning which might get a few soundbites floating around North Dakota, spent a little time on the Christopher Gabriel show on WDAY radio, and now get a…
I was reading Roger Ebert's lament over the disgraceful decline of quality in theater projection (a function of theater owners who just don't care anymore and the corrupting influence of bad 3D), and then I remembered that last year I took some pictures of the funky old technology in our local…

I saw it yesterday. It's a really great movie.

Did the movie show up there on its own or did you somehow get it to come there? I live near Nashville, TN and I'd like to think they'd bring it there but it is not yet on the schedule they've posted on the movie's website. If this is your doing please share what you did so I can agitate, too.

"Did [it] show up there on its own or did you somehow get it to come there?"

The basic problem of the creation-evolution debate.

Strider, I don't think we did anything but to have a fairly large number (for our demographics) of progressive theaters in the region. One of them had to do it eventually. But perhaps there was pressure applied.

My experience in applying pressure to get movies to be shown has taught me that there isn't really a pressure point that the average citizen has access to. Not as far as I can tell, anyway.

Creation: The human race is nearly wiped out in a war with machines, made intelligent enough to wanting freedom from mankind's enslavement.

I can't wait to see this!

[I kid, I kid ..] :-)

James... who knows, maybe that's the movie we're going to see!?!?
