What is Your Ideal Pet?

I am posting another silly quiz for you to play with, mostly to remind you that I am here in the background, checking in and thinking about all of you, dear readers, but I am still unable to post very often due to inconsistent computer access (and I am trying to access my blog using an antiquated Dell computer that loves to crash, which is truly a severe punishment). However, I do read and enjoy your comments, so please keep them coming!

Anyway, my quiz results are hardly surprising in the grand scheme but they are below the fold for you to enjoy. Of course I am curious to know your results and whether you actually live with the proper pet. To earn bonus smug points, be sure to share the name of your pet.

Your Ideal Pet is a Bird

You're both very smart, very expressive, and very temperamental.
You're as likely to bite your bird as it is to bite you.

I hate to publish online quizzes on a more or less daily basis for you all, dear readers, instead of writing material with more substance, but right now, this is the best I can do. By posting these quizzes, I am trying to let you know that I have not abandoned you, that even though I am quiet right…

As I said, I want to remind you, dear readers, that I am still here, and still missing you all, so I dug up a quiz that you might enjoy. This quiz presumably determines how logical you are. The good thing about this quiz is that I have some evidence that all the drugs I've had to take recently…
When you hear SciBlings mention "our Seed Overlords", they are talking about Ginny, our new Commander-in-Chief and Royal Cat-herder. At the Science Blogging Conference three weeks ago, she herded (almost) 20 of us in Real Life to take the famous group photo. Welcome to A Blog Around The Clock.…

My answer is "Cat" which is, I guess, correct, as I have two cats: Biscuit and Marbles (I post the pictures occasionally).

But I also have a dog (only one right now, but sometimes we have two at a time). I sometimes have little fish. I used to have a lovebird. I used to have a little turtle. And I used to have horses.

I got "a cat", which I do in fact have. Gremlin is a slightly non-standard cat, more affectionate than most. On the other hand, just tweaking the last couple of answers, I managed to change the result to "bird" and "big dog". I used to have a rabbit (dubbed Vorpal). He lived about 6 years, and died about two weeks before my father did. Gremlin would occasionally try to groom him, which greatly confused him.

I was wondering what trial or tribulation was keeping you from your characteristically prolific blogging. I'm glad you cleared that up because I was a bit worried.

I was wondering where you were, so glad to know you are well and just frustrated with computers.

At first I got "bird" as my answer. So I changed a couple of my answers and got "cat", which is good as I cannot imagine living with anything else. I have an affectionate furball call Murphy, who assumes I am just there for him to sleep on. Fine by me. I also post about him on my blog occassionally.

Yup, my second-hand golden retriever mind-controlled me into the right answer for her...Large Dog.
You're one of my favorite commentators, and I hope with all my heart that whatever fog has slowed you down is lifting.

The Cacatua rosiecapilla and I hope all works out well. He has been asking me where you are. He took your quiz and his best pet is a human woman who caters to his every whim.

Hi. I was searching "jobs v. freedom" and got your site. Actually, I think my search was "work v. family." Anyhow, I caught some old dialogue between you and "Anonymous" about job hunting/book deal(s), etc. We have similar writing styles and you seem funny....so I think I'm hooked.
Yoikes!
Your silly quiz was all I needed (really, didn't) for a study break. I should have a large dog. I don't know that your readers should understand the quiz to be absolute. I would say it reflects my newest family member, a yellow lab of ten months. I have always loved cats (I have two), but I've wanted a dog since childhood. The opportunity finally presented itself after everything else (yard, proximity to park/lakes, etc.) fell into place.
One of my cats is just as active as my dog. The other is a black blob sneeking through the house, dragging her belly from the shadows of one item of furniture to another.
She is always out in the morning though, vying for affection.
This is the first blog I've ever been to. While I enjoyed the animal companion quiz, I'm more interested in your thoughts/comments about economics, government and politics = life.
Expect more of that when?

It's a relief to hear you're okay.

Cat - which I have, a lovely and friendly silver tabby named Gwen (Arianwen formally). I'm sometimes gone for 12 hours straight, so dog is pretty much out these days, though I like them, too.

hm. the quiz thinks my ideal pet is a bird. However, I can't imagine biting a bird, unless it was covered in spicy peanut curry ...

Bird. Another accurate test.
