Perhaps the garter snake is carrying a lunch.
I'm nearly certain I've seen garter snakes eat ladybugs.
That's one of those brilliant nature photos you just can't set up.
Maybe it's a fashion statement?
or perhaps it's seasonal; rudolph the red-nosed garter snake??
