I loved this one .. perhaps this also is how I was introduced to jazz and blues, which are passions of mine?

I unpacked "frustrating" first.
Reached in and found the word "worst".
Then I picked "soggy" and
Next I picked "foggy" and
Then I was ready to tell them my tale.
'Cause I'd unpacked my adjectives.
Adjectives are words you use to really describe things,
Handy words to carry around.

We're talkin' 'bout dollars and sense,
dollars and sense;
Them green-back bills with the pictures

Since life is one experience
that spares us no expense,
Gotta use them dollars

"This video is no longer available"...bummer.
But anyway...that's Bob Dorough. He recorded some ultra-hip tunes with Miles Davis back in 1959 or so, and is still (I think) going strong...leastwise he has a couple of excellent recent albums out.
CCP: Bob Dorough wrote and sang a lot of these, but "Conjunction Junction" is performed by Jack Sheldon. Jack also did "I'm Only a Bill." Years later, he came back and satirized himself by singing "I'm an Amendment To Be," on The Simpsons.
I'm a huge Jack Sheldon fan. As a musician, he was one of the top studio trumpeters in L.A. for decades, and was one of the seminal members of the West Coast "Cool School" of jazz. He was also a comedian and actor, and even had his own sitcom for a season back in the '60s. You might also remember him as Merv Griffin's bandleader. If you can, try to find his recordings "The Entertainers" or "Live at Don Mupo's," to hear him at (IMO) his best. (Warning: These records contain humor that would be considered offensive to women today. And also really kickass hard bop.)
He still gigs in L.A., but alas, I'm about 1200 miles away, and there's nothing else out there for me.
ah...I stand corrected, cheerfully (if the damn link had worked, of course i would have known instantly it wasn't Dorough...nobody else sings like that!)
I know some of Sheldon's older work on Pacific Jazz...thanks for the update.
