Senator McCain -- Yet Another Rethuglican Liar!

Does anyone remember that Senator McCain promised to kill himself if the democrats regained control of the Senate in this election? It's looking like the Senate will go to the democrats , so that leads me to ask .. Senator McCain, what's it going to be; action or an apology? Or are you truly the lying scum that we all knew you are? We're waiting! We'll even let you choose your poison. You could raise much-needed money for the rethuglican party by killing yourself on pay-for-view TV. You can bet that lots of us would watch.

This election day post is going to be continuously updated until the winner becomes more-or-less official. Tomorrow we'll have one more politics post as something of a benediction, and then mercifully back to the physics. Updates will appear at the top of the post, so feel free to refresh…
I don't think Democrats should let the Palin fiasco overshadow a great convention: there were some great speeches, one of them by John Kerry. While Kerry did an awful job of responding to the swiftboating, that episode really does mask some of his strengths: he's a terrific debater, and a very…
It's common knowledge John McCain has an anger management problem. That's what's at the bottom of his oft repeated refrain that he wouldn't win the Miss Congeniality prize in the US Senate. It's not that he's a maverick. It's that he's nasty and impulsive and without any instinct for comity with…
Under the fold, as it is a LOT of links.... I am the angry left: It is a matter of survival of our way of life, of our basic values, of our democratic system, not to mention several important elements of that system such as education, affordable health care, social security, and a reasonable degree…

Oh, good grief!! Are you really trying to demonstrate that you can be as silly and pointless as the "Rethuglicans" you apparently hate so much?

Get a grip ... it was a silly throwaway line, nothing more.

Oh ... and lose the term "Rethuglican" - it was moderately amusing for the first 1000 uses ... now it's just tiresome.

Yet another failed Rethuglican politician who won't stay true to his word. First he rolled over for torture, and now he won't off himself. I much prefer drawing and quartering to poison or hanging, myself, but that's more of a death sentence than a suicide, and besides, he looks tired and ill already. Maybe he should have someone pop out from behind a door and frighten him to death.

(Wow, all the sore losers have cried out of the woodwork today.)

I think his real point was that his career would be doomed....

Well, I think his career is over anyways, as he has spent the last 8 months to a year buddy-buddying with the "Base" of Karl Rovian tactics, the Religious Right nutcases in Florida and the Midwest, people he was enemies with back in 2000, and then just saw an election where Rove's base appeal (double-entendre, that) failed utterly in most of the states it was tried in.

Question is, has he done enough damage to his image (by showing his true colors) to re-paint himself back into a centrist, when the reality is that his voting record as much as his recent forays to the religious nuts has made him the epitome of the modern Republican?

Like "Democrat Party", which I listened to Dick Armery use at least twice during an interview I heard the day after the elections. Now, Dickie is from the southland, and he knows deep in his soul how much a power play changing someone else's name or giving them a nickname is. As reference, see 43's use of condescending and insulting nicknames. See also the grand old southern tradition of diminutive first name references for black men.

Now, if this were the old Soviet Union, he'd return to his office to find that some thoughtful aide had carefully cleaned his personal sidearm, but accidently left it on his desk blotter.

stMust ommend a fascinating book, 'The Nightingale's Song'. It covers the careers of McCain and four of his Annapolis classmates. James Webb, Robert McFarland, John Pointdexter and Ollie North!
The book reveals the inside story of the five men, their place in this class, the roles they chose, and their interaction with each other.
Poindexter us working with Negropointe in the Bush Administration, McFarland left the Reagan Asm. after Iran/Contra, and we all know where Webb and McCain are at the moment. The biggest nut-ball, Ollie North, is a far-right talk show host in Virginia.
This is real life drama, and the last act is about to open!

That is precicely why I grow weary of the term myself, Dale. You also have to consider your audience. The republicans already have the easily amused by stupid wordplay vote.

And speaking of snarky bits of post-election humor, try this: http://www.rightwasright.us

...and yeah, McCain has certainly proved he'd sell any part of his body --or OUR CONSTITUTION-- to any person or group he thought might annoint him with approval/future votes... I used to actually kinda believe in the guy, once upon a time, before he wore out his knees kneeling to BushCo...
...and check http://www.consortiumnews.com/2006/110906.html for info re Rumsfeld's wannabe replacement, too...
