From the Mouths of Babes

Below the fold is a video that is meant to be provocative. On one hand, I agree with what the kid is saying, but on the other hand, I find it repulsive that the adults involved with the making of this video are comfortable with using a kid to say such things. Why hide behind a kid? Why not take credit for your own opinions and words?

Rhetorical response from Bill O'Reilly ... *yawn* .. why wouldn't he just ignore this, instead of drawing more attention to the video by ranting about it?

More like this

Lance Mannion has a really nice contrast between childhood now and back in the 1970's that doesn't go in the usual decline-of-society direction.
Last week we wondered how having kids affects our own childhood memories. In many ways, our kids remind us of our own childhood, allowing us to relive our favorite memories.
Funding trips for classes of school children is a complicated business in Sweden. This is due to two commonly held conventional ideas. One is that it would be unfair to ask each family to simply pay for their kid, since not all families may be able to afford the trip.
Here I have just a few suggestions for science books for the kiddos. See this post for the adult version.

Mixed feelings. I mean, there are parents on the opposite side of the spectrum teaching and encouraging their kids to believe and say the exact opposite.

I think they used a kid to heighten the effect of the statement. A child is chastizing O'Reilly! A CHILD! (laughter)

And it worked too - O'Reilly took the bait. If the adults had put themselves up on youtube - no one would have noticed. It's sensationalism.

The smart-aleck kid has been a fixture in entertainmant for a long time, and for good reason.
